Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
We can say that in recent years, awareness of attention deficit, hyperactivity and/or impulsivity in children and adolescents has increased in all segments of society. Evaluation
The first step in the treatment of ADHD (Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity) is psychoeducation. The aim is to raise awareness of the family about this disease, to provide information about what kind of treatment to follow and what problems will be encountered if treatment is not given. The age of the patient is important in the treatment of ADHD. If the person receiving treatment is a child or adolescent, the participation of the family in the treatment will contribute positively to the treatment and increase the speed of recovery. At the same time, individuals in the social environment outside the family are expected to contribute to the treatment. ADHD treatment is carried out using medication and therapy according to the patient's criteria. In drug treatment, the dose of the drug should be adjusted by the specialist. Therapies are psychotherapy and psychosocial therapy. ADHD can also be treated with a combination of medication and psychotherapy (Ref: NP). Our plan for families who apply to us is as follows:
-
The first meeting is always with the parents(family).
-
In the second and third interview, various psychological tests are applied to the child.
-
Our experts report the evaluation results in English or Turkish.
-
At the last meeting, an evaluation report is presented to the family and detailed information is given.
Note: Tests are administered in the mother tongue (Turkish or English) of the children of the families who apply to us. From time to time, depending on the child's background, the specialist may request an additional 1-hour evaluation.
