About me
I am a BACP certified psychotherapist. I have over eleven years of experience working in private and trust clinics with children, young people and adults experiencing a range of difficulties including psychosis, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, gender and relationship issues. As well as private practice, I currently work part-time for the NHS Talking Therapies Service, offering short-term therapy to adults with depression and anxiety.
My approach
I work with a psychoanalytic orientation. This means that I believe our past experiences influence our present and that there are subconscious processes underlying our thoughts and daily behaviors. Sometimes you may wonder why you repeat certain behaviors or always feel negative. Therapy seeks answers to these questions by discussing your current difficulties. The therapy process is about uncovering these unconscious processes and bringing relief to your difficulties. You don't need to have a good enough reason to start therapy, you may be feeling very anxious or depressed, feeling backed into a corner, or simply wanting to understand yourself better.
Education
Bachelor of Psychology, Istanbul Bilgi University
MA in Counseling for Children and Young People, University of Nottingham
Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy for Professionals Working with Adults, Middlesex University

My approach
My approach is psychoanalytically oriented. This means that I believe our past has an impact on
our present and there are unconscious processes beneath our thoughts and everyday behaviors.
You may be wondering why you are behaving or feeling in a certain way that may not have an
obvious answer. I believe it is important to allow the space to be able to reflect on your current
difficulties The therapy process is about uncovering these unconscious processes and bring relief
to your suffering. I do not think there is ever a good enough reason to start therapy, it could be that
you are feeling very anxious or depressed, feeling stuck or you just want to understand yourself
better
