Learning Disabilities (Child)

It is a deficiency in reading, writing and mathematics skills that cannot be explained by the child's age, education and intelligence level. It often appears as a reading disorder. Neurological etiologies such as frontotemporal region problems are at the forefront in the development of learning disorders.

Attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder may accompany the diagnosis. The first application is usually in the form of delay and failure to progress in reading at the end of the first grade or the beginning of the second grade of primary school. WISC-R intelligence test and school-teacher information are helpful in diagnosis, but the definitive diagnosis is made through clinical interview. It is recommended to receive special training in treatment.
